Starlight Boy is a Retrowave / Synthwave project of a Russian musician living in Montenegro. All music, including vocals, is recorded at home on a laptop. Starlight Boy's songs are influenced by popular retro-futuristic culture based on a modern vision of 80s and 90s pop culture nostalgia.
The second single "Old Tape" is a song in the spirit of the era of VHS and cassette tapes, when one tape recording could evoke more emotion than any modern representation of media culture in the era of tiktok and the ubiquity of the Internet.
